Lauterbach extends its range of supported processor architectures by Microchip’s dsPIC33E family.
As a member of the dsPIC33 microcontroller family, the dsPIC33E series includes some built-in DSP instructions and a lot of extra features, such as motor control or measurement control, which makes it ideally suited for applications like Automotive, Industrial or Medical control. Most members of the family are “Functional Safety Ready” and include extra hardware safety features, making them ideal for safety critical applications.
TRACE32 supports debugging of both single devices and multiple devices running in an AMP system. Developers transferring from other cores will find the same industry leading, and familiar, TRACE32 PowerView interface available to them, allowing them to get up to speed as quickly as possible with the new devices.
According to Norbert Weiss, General Manager of Lauterbach GmbH, “I see this effort as a natural extension of our partnership with Microchip to provide the best tools and hardware to support customers in their designs for safety critical systems.”
TRACE32 for dsPIC33E series will be available from 1st January 2021.
